Note from Trauma.

Can you believe it? Three full years of monthly showcases with new singers plus veterans trying out new material.

On May 11th, the line-up is a bit stellar, I must say. We've got a slew of Bijou regulars, including DENNIS SANCHEZ, CARLY OZARD and STEVEN SLATTEN. We have two "near-newbies," who return to Bijou for their 2nd time -- C.J. KHING and KENNETH SAKIL. And what Bijou would be complete without genuine newbies. This month, we have LOLITA KUTCHACOCKOVE (a.k.a. Sister Mary Timothy of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence), BEN PRINCE (the regular house pianist at Martuni's for Friday happy hour) ... and the Bijou debut of SAN FRAN SAX CO, a saxophone octet. Yes, eight saxophonists at Bijou at once. But wait ... there's more! KATYA LUDMILLA SMIRNOFF-SKYY returns to also celebrate her own 3-year anniversary (yes, she was born at Bijou 3 years ago in May).

As always, we have TOM SHAW at the keyboards and MISTER FREDDIE at the door. Did you see our lovely mugs in the SF Bay Times this past weekend?
